HOORAY!

So Antonio had a friend come over to help with the beadboard installation... but it was brought to his attention that in order to do this the floors would have to be ripped out... we werent planning on doing the floors until after we moved in but this change made me one happy girl! So while I was at work, Antonio and some help ripped out all those old ugly wood parquet squares throughout the entire house... if you have forgotten what they look like here it is again:

This is what I came home from work to see:

We decided to take on the installation ourselves, so after a lot of research we decided on IKEA's Tundra flooring (color: Antique) and this is the result:

It was pretty easy after the first few cuts and rows... by the end we were fitting pieces around doorways and into small closet spaces... we felt pretty good about ourselves! Here is the dining room:

after: we decided to go with Bob's Carpet Mart for this one and have it professionally installed- good decision! :D

  1. I was planning on getting the same flooring and after going to IKEA today and seeing the repeating knots in the laminate planks I started getting' iffy'. Soo...is it pattern obvious and does it bother you? I just don't want to get it put down and then see all those matching knots!
