"First" Blog and "First" Post

The last few months have been a lot of "firsts" for Antonio and I!

In December, we both graduated from USF- him as an cutie pie Engineer and me as a Registered Nurse. He got his first job at Raytheon which is pretty much awesome! and I got my dream job on a Labor and Delivery floor at Mease Countryside Hospital (even if it is starting on the night shift).

Shortly after, on January 30, 2010 we got married in front of all of our family and friends at the Bayou Club in Largo, FL. It was the most beautiful wedding, better than I had ever pictured it in my head.. and all thanks to our wonderful parents who helped finance pretty much the whole thing (THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!!!). The next day ee went on our honeymoon/first vacation together to Sandals Ocho Rios in Jamaica and had the time of our lives. Here's a couple pics:

(love his "serious" face LOL)

Once we got back we signed a short term lease at Palms of Belleair apartments in Belleair Bluffs and moved in together for the first time and got to deal with all the little "surprises" that we never knew about each other... like how Antonio has never ironed his own shirt... in his life... haha. But we are still having fun every day learning more and more about each other and falling deeper in love <3>

Anyway we loved the area so much that we decided to search exclusively for our first home in the Belleair area and try to sneak into the deadline for the $8000 tax credit. We had been looking off and on for about 6 months prior with specific criteria and found nothing close. But with the Lord's provision, the perfect house fell right into our laps at the last minute! It's not in Belleair (we couldnt even come close to affording a piece of land there)... but its right outside in a little town called Belleair Bluffs (for the Belleair wannabe's).. I decided to start this blog to record our journey through home improvement and renovation- the good, the bad, and the ugly (and I am anticipating a lot of ugly!)

We really have been blessed beyond belief with this house. It fits the following of our criteria:

1. A fixer upper (cosmetic only)
2. No more than $150,000
3. Close to the water w/o flood insurance
4. On a dead-end street
5. Potential for expansion
6. At least 2bed/2bath
7. Attached garage
8. Large lot/backyard
9. Centrally located
10. Close to shopping/schools/beach

We plan to remodel this house head-to toe, one thing at a time! I'm hoping we will have it close to the way we want in about 5 years time :)

Pics of the house to come in the next post!
